Home Decor Trends 2014 – What I like

When the year begins all the magazines, being fashion or home décor, bring us what a few selected professionals believe will become trendy in the next season.
At Inglenuk Design we believe that nothing can be cozier than a house we have decorated with our heart and, as far as trends go, we believe in adapting new things that we love to the ones we already have, making our homes the very true history of our lives!
And we are actually glad to see that there is an increasing number of people that want just that – a house that looks like them, that reflects who they are and how they feel. #ElleDecor and #HouseBeautiful are incredible sources for everything décor and we have selected our favorite trends from their 2014 selection!

1. Lose the staged feeling
Designer Christian May ( advocates for color, color and more color instead of the “boring Beige Box” we usually see every year. And we couldn’t agree more with him! Even those who prefer a versatile and neutral theme can play around with color that will give any room more personality and warmth.
2. All shades of blue
Turquoise has seen an increase in popularity in the last year and it will be no different in 2014. Right beside it well also see all shades of blue, from navy blue, as predicted by Mark D. Sikes ( to bright and vibrant shades like peacock blue and cobalt according to Paloma Contreras (

3. Unusual Combinations
Mixed trends, colors, textures, fabrics and materials! Jennifer Beek and Georgie Hambright ( love the look of different metals, woods, fabrics and lots of layers … and so do we!
What do you think?! I would love to hear your thoughts and to see pictures of how you have incorporated your favorite trends into your home!

Pucker up! - Dynasty Lips have arrived!

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, I’d like to introduce a new product line to my beloved followers and friends: the “Lips Through the Ages” collection!

I, as everybody knows, love a celebration and, if it involves pretty colors and makeup, I’m definitely in!

Did you know that throughout the different dynasties in China there were several lip makeup styles in vogue? Huhum

Lips were for a long time considered the sexiest part of a woman body in Asia. Starting during the Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-220 A.D.) the Chinese developed quite a taste for small, red lips and that was reflected in the way they applied their makeup in different cities and times.

Honoring the ancient lip makeup traditions, our favorite design studio in Shanghai - Piling Palang, designed this amazing ceramic line that is nothing but to die for! Check it out!

What could be more lavishing than having a meal in those?

Come check them out in our store for exclusive promotions on the entire Piling Palang collection, including the “Lips Through the Ages” line!

Karim Rashid Dinner Ware Collection is in da house!!!

Hello my beloved friends!

I am so excited with our new products that I just decided to put everything on hold and write to you! We have just received our dinnerware collection designed by Karim Rashid!

I am pretty sure you guys all know him, but for those who don’t, Karim Rashid is an acclaimed designer that has a mixed culture background and is considered one of the most prolific designers of his generation.
Time magazine has described him as the "most famous industrial designer in all the Americas” and he has created over 3000 products and won over 300 awards worldwide!

Karim Rachid believes in a more holistic approach to design and states that well-designed objects can add beauty and reflect the lives of those who use them. For him there’s no real distinction between high and low design since his goal is always to provide a quality experience to the users of the objects. What a visionary right?

According to his bio, Karim's work is featured in 20 permanent collections and he exhibits art in galleries worldwide. He has won several times the Red Dot award, Chicago Athenaeum Good Design award, I.D. Magazine Annual Design Review, IDSA Industrial Design Excellence award and many other awards.

A super cool thing about him is that he’s always a guest lecturer at universities and conferences and he takes up these opportunities to spread his more democratic views on design and its importance in everyday life. He holds Honorary Doctorates from the OCAD, Toronto and Corcoran College of Art & Design, Washington. Karim has been featured in magazines and books including Time, Vogue, Esquire, GQ, Wallpaper, and countless more.

WOW, the man does not stop and I LOVE it!

One of his most recent partnerships was with a porcelain factory in Brazil, certainly one of the most traditional porcelain ware handcrafters in the world – Oxford Porcelanas! And the good news is that we have exclusive distribution rights in North America! Do I need to say how amazing this is?!

Well, you can buy it online or come to our store, where you can see, touch and be amazed by his innovative and beautiful to death ceramic dinner ware and crystal lines!!!

See you soon!
